It is the point where the conflict or tension that has been building throughout the story reaches its highest point.1
The climax is usually the moment when the protagonist faces their biggest challenge or obstacle and makes a critical decision that determines the outcome of the story.1
The climax is often the most memorable and impactful part of the story and sets the stage for the falling action and resolution. After the climax, the tension and conflict begin to decrease, and the story moves towards its conclusion. The climax is an essential part of the story because it is where the author brings together all the elements of the plot to create a satisfying and meaningful conclusion.1
The climax is the most interesting part of the story. It is the part that draws you in the most.
In One and Only Ivan, the novel reaches its climax when Ivan successfully communicates his message and increased media attention brings public outcry that results in the animals being sent to a zoo.
